Marshfield Youth Baseball Improvements

Marshfield Youth Baseball Community:

If you have recently been over to the Webster Street Field Complex you will have noticed some of the changes implemented this season. These changes include the addition of windscreen/backdrop to fields 1, 2, & 3; the use of spot cover tarps to preserve the mounds and home plate areas; and just today, the installation of portable mound bullpens for the 46/60 fields. On behalf of the MYB Oversight Committee, we are very proud to be able to announce these improvements that will enhance the experience for our players, coaches, and parents.

The changes implemented this season are part of a larger multi-year plan, and ongoing effort, to improve the MYB program for everyone. The planning and effort began at the end of last season with the formation of the Oversight Committee, (the OC.) The OC was tasked with putting some structure and accountability around all of the 'great ideas' that get brought to our attention each year, as well as the fund raising efforts that will bring them to fruition.

I want to take a moment to thank some of the OC members who were instrumental in making this happen:

John Scolpineti, Brendan Sharkey, John Fitzgerald, Dave Bergamesca, Rob Croft, Mark Feldman, Glenn Arendt, Ryan Marini, Josh Summers, Rob Holmes, Jim Sampson, and Tim Hawkes. President of MYB, Brian Murphy, deserves special thanks for chartering and supporting this committee.

I also want to thank our sponsors. Their commitment to our program is enabling all of this happen. You see their signs in the outfield and business names on the back of the uniforms. We are adding more and more each week. We appreciate their support greatly.

Folks, there are many important evolutions going on with the program. From how we handle tryouts, to updating our rules, investment in player development and instructional programs, support for coaches, to all the facilities improvements. However, we continue to need the support from parents, coaches, and sponsors. We welcome those who want to step up and help. Please look out for and consider attending and/or volunteering for our key fund raising events like the MYB golf tournament, "Parents Night Out", and other annual events. Also, please consider being a part of the OC. If you have a commitment to the program, work collaboratively, and willing to roll up your sleeves with some time and effort, (or just want to contribute financially) we want you!

Thank you all and good luck with the rest of the season!

Sean Parrell
Secretary, Marshfield Youth Baseball
Chair, MYB Oversight Committee

(Second Annual) Complete Game Marshfield Youth Baseball Camp!

Hello Parents,

Complete Game Clinic and Marshfield Youth Baseball are happy to announce the second annual Complete Game Marshfield Youth Baseball Camp.  Joe Belmosto, Teacher and Coach at Braintree High School and a proud Marshfield High School Graduate and former captain of the Baseball team, will be conducting the camp with the help of other former Marshfield Rams Baseball players & coaches. This year’s clinic will feature two separate weeks of camp scheduled for the weeks of June 25th to June 29th, and July 9th to July 13th.  Each week of camp will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Marshfield Youth Baseball Field Complex off of Webster Street.  Parents will drop off and pick up their youth players at field number two.

A typical day at camp will consist of proper stretching, throwing and fielding techniques, along with drills in the morning. Specialized instruction each day will rotate from hitting drills, positional fielding drills, competitions, and much more.  During lunchtime, a special event or trivia competing for baseball related prizes will occur, with teamwork skills and an organized game being the focus during the afternoon.  Each player will receive a camp tee shirt and enjoy a safe, fun, and instructional atmosphere dedicated to improving Marshfield Youth Baseball and beyond.  Tuition for 5 days of instruction will be $200 ($25 off for each additional family member).

Please do not hesitate to contact Joe Belmosto, at 781-864-1165 or   with any questions.  Also, more information and link to the brochure with signup information is available at www.CompleteGameClinic.com.
